Last night (04/04/09) was the night of Earlestown Athletic's Annual Race night, The club would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and family who took the time out to come down and support the club. A few hundred quid was raised to pay for new equipment for the forthcoming season. The Night was another great success with too races being won by outside horses and paying out a massive £3.50 per ticket and too races being won by the odd's on favourate and paying out £1 and £1.50 per ticket respectfully. The kids and a few adults really got into the spirit of the night cheering and jumping throughout every race. The night finished off with an auction race where people or cindicate groups bid on each horse to own it then that group won a large pot if the horse won, The winning horse was No. 7 which haddent won all night but picked up £85 for the winning cindicate of Bill Hart, Ste Knight, Gail Knight and Dorrie Wilson. The biggest upset of the night was when Ste Knight won the pig race which came with a load chorus of boo's and jeering, and a few shouts off fixed, all in good spirit (I think) All in all it was a great night and I look forward to next years.
Earlestown Athletic J.F.C are helping the F.A with there resepect programme. Please see the RESPECT page at the bottom of the Nav Bar.
The date of the race night has been changed to the 4th of April. There was a double booking at the club with a 21st birthday party and as your only 21 once we have decided to pull our night back a couple of weeks. The format of the night will be the same, free entry, food etc.
